An urgent warning has been issued over fraudsters imitating a Dublin hospital in a new phone scam.
Scammers have been using the Tallaght University Hospital number to obtain personal information from victims.
People have been urged to be cautious if they receive an automated call from 01 699 1448 asking for their name and number.
A hospital spokesperson said legitimate calls from the hospital will never be automated.
They said on Facebook: "Important Notice: If you receive an automated call from 01 699 1448 requesting your name and number – please do not give out this information.
"This is a Tallaght University Hospital number, but legitimate calls from this number will NEVER be automated and as such any calls from this number that are automated should be ignored."
