Lorde and Bill O’Reilly on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon

Fallon’s booking style sometimes throws up unlikely bedfellows and last night was a good one. An iconoclastic pop star (Lorde) and an iconoclastic outspoken talkshow host (O’Reilly) both graced the grey couches. Lorde talked about her relationship with Taylor Swift, which apparently started with a bunch of flowers and a meal at Shake Shack, and the night at a pre-Grammy party where Lorde pretended to be Swift’s manager. Oh, and she revealed she managed to knock together the collaboration-heavy soundtrack to the Hunger Games in two months.

O’Reilly, meanwhile, reminisced about Thanksgivings in the O’Reilly household where he’d be sent to his room FOR THREE MONTHS for questioning the contents of the meal. Then he compared his experience with “kids today” who have the gall to ask what kind of stuffing they’re getting. Imagine.

James Brown moves on The Late Late Show

Ferguson is getting more manic as he heads towards the departure door. Yesterday’s gallows humour about his inevitable exit and William Shatner’s turkey frying tips were followed by Glee star Kristin Chenoweth showing off her James Brown moves. They consisted of her shuffling about as if on hot coals and Ferguson half-heartedly joining in next to her before walking off halfway through. Who cares, right? He’s leaving anyway!

Meghan Trainor’s Thanksgiving carols on Jimmy Kimmel Live

Kimmel is amazed at the number of Christmas songs but the lack of Thanksgiving songs. But he’s here to remedy that with the help of skinny-hating singer Meghan Trainor who has penned an absolutely real album of Thanksgiving tracks. She delivered soon to be classics such as My Flight Got Cancelled in Denver and Uncle Dan Hates Obama (And Won’t Shut Up About Benghazi) with a festive jumper on and in front of an impressive table full of turkey.

Wu-Tang Clan bring the ruckus on Late Show with David Letterman

There’s something brilliant about Letterman introducing a “legendary hip-hop act”. His eyes have a certain mix of utter indifference and slight annoyance that usually only comes when he’s got to interview a politician. Wu-Tang on the other hand look pretty happy to be there with RZA even doing his own little intro before they get into Ruckus in B Minor. U-God could have tried a bit harder with his outfit – he looks more Gant than gangsta – but Method Man redeems things with his chorus which is based around the immortal line: “pull your pants up, son”.
