Talking Point: Will you welcome e-scooters to London?

A 12-month trial for e-scooter rentals was announced across five London boroughs today.

Ealing, Hammersmith and Fulham, Kensington and Chelsea, Richmond, and the City of London will all be participating in the 12-month trial, which is due to begin on June 7.

Will Norman, London’s Walking and Cycling Commissioner, said the aim of the trial was to improve congestion and air pollution.

“No-one is going to be riding all the way across London on one, but what I wanted was enough ‘joined-up spaces’ to make this work.”

Will you welcome more e-scooters to London? Let us know in the comments for the chance to be featured tomorrow.

Yesterday’s Talking Point: Do you feel comfortable hugging again now?

Most of you, it seems, are happy to hug again.

”Happylondon_” commented “it’s a dream come true,” while Yasmine Messi said that she “always was.”

Some suspected that people have been breaking guidelines to hug all along; “Charlotte_t_t” questioned “really now, who hasn’t hugging?”

But others were less sure. “Johnnyalanjames” said “I was never comfortable with it.”
