Talking Point: Will you risk planning a holiday to a destination on the ‘green watchlist’?

Countries in danger of being moved back to the amber list will be placed in a green “watchlist”

Hopes for summer holidays have been raised once more with Ibiza, Mallorca, and Malta set to be added to the green list.

The changes, meaning that travellers will no longer have to self-isolate, will come into effect next week. Other destinations include several Caribbean islands and all Balearic Islands.

Countries in danger of being moved back to the amber list will be placed in a green “watchlist,” which from next week will only include Israel.

Grant Shapps also hinted that quarantine might be dropped for fully-vaccinated Brits “later in the summer.”

But would you risk planning a holiday to a country on the “green watchlist?” Let us know in the comments for your chance to be featured on the ES website on Monday.

Yesterday’s Talking Point: Will you wear a mask when it is no longer a legal requirement to do so?

Opinion was fairly split on masks. Many of you still planned on wearing one, in certain scenarios at least.

“Matimoto” said “I’ll still be wearing mine on public transport” - a sentiment echoed by many of you. “Sellvia” agreed, but added that she also planned on wearing her mask in shops.

Others planned on wearing a mask when they felt it necessary to protect others. “Jamesinporto” said “I’ll even wear one if I have a cold.”

Some of you, though, were less keen. “Arsenio_solovyev” said: “Ditching my mask permanently as soon as.”
