Talking Point: How do you feel about face masks remaining mandatory on TfL?

Sadiq Khan will maintain the order to wear face coverings on London’s transport network (Kirsty O’Connor/PA)

Mayor Sadiq Khan today moved to keep face coverings compulsory on Transport for London.

The plans mean that masks will remain a “condition of carriage” on TfLservices from July 19, unless passengers are otherwise exempt.

Khan said of the measures: “When you are in London, you have got to be following our rules — just like if you are on a train going to Scotland.”

The new rules have caused some backlash and confusion as other rail firms are not following suit. This means that travellers using services such as Thameslink may face different rules over the course of one journey across London.

What do you think of the new rules? Will they make you feel more relaxed when using TfL services? Do you think that other rail companies should follow Khan’s lead? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below, and we’ll feature you tomorrow.
