On Tour was the obvious selection at Leicester this afternoon in the two-mile novice chase at 2.30 but reportedly has travel issues and is a non-runner. It’s worth keeping an eye on Doctor Harper in that event - he’s going to come into his own over much further and seems sure to win races over fences.
In On Tour’s absence the best bet at the Midlands card should be Knockgraffon (3.00), who has course-and-distance winning form, was a useful bumper runner last season and is the form pick on his debut second at Aintree over hurdles.
There was a lot to like about the way Berkshire Beauty (2.05) went on her first experience of the Fibresand at Southwell when runner-up to Thello last time and she can go one better back at the track in the one-mile handicap.
Venetia Williams is certainly a trainer to have on your side when the going gets testing and Take The Mick (2.20) and Azert De Coeur (3.25) are worth backing on the heavy ground at Wetherby.
