Tuesday’s best bets, by Tony Paley
The switch to Fibresand looks to be the making of Ticking Away (4.00), who has an excellent chance to follow up his easy victory on his Southwell debut last week back over the same course and distance on Tuesday afternoon. The selection is due to go up another 6lb from next week and looks very well in on the evidence of his victory six days ago.
Following Fibresand specialists is often the key to success at Southwell and Blades Lad (3.30), who has a 50% strike-rate on the surface is another who can defy a penalty at the track. The selection’s latest victory was emphatic enough to suggest another 6lb on his back won’t stop him this time.
