Monday’s best bets, by Tony Paley
Two all-weather cards on Monday and the best bet is at Kempton where Zman Awal (4.10) can win for James Fanshawe and Tom Queally. He has plenty in his favour here with the drop in trip likely to suit and the form of his second at Wolverhampton last time out being franked. At Lingfield Razor Wind (3.00) from the Godolphin yard appeals as an unexposed colt on a fair mark for his handicap debut.
Tipping competition - a new week
Congratulations to diegoisgod, who won last week’s competition on a final score of +28.50, beating 72luca (+27) after both had a 16-1 winner on Friday. Wiggy12 (+22), tanias (+21) and Stephen Peter Phillips (+18) were others who had excellent weeks without quite getting to the line in front.
This week’s prize is a is a pair of tickets to the William Hill King George VI Chase, generously offered by the sponsors themselves, along with a £50 bet on the famous Boxing Day race at Kempton.
To kick things off, we’d like your selections, please, for these races: 2.20 Musselburgh, 2.50 Musselburgh, 4.40 Kempton.
As ever, our champion will be the tipster who returns the best profit to notional level stakes of £1 at starting price on our nominated races, of which there will be three each day up until Friday. Non-runners count as losers.
In the event of a tie at the end of the week, the winner will be the tipster who, from among those tied on the highest score, posted their tips earliest on the final day.
