We have had our fair share of impossible handicaps over the last week in Scotland so it's something of a culture shock to see a card such as Hamilton's today. Act Your Shoe Size (3.10) and Proximate (3.40) should land very short odds while Aramist (4.40) has plenty going for him in the middle-distance handicap. Alan Swinbank's charge has left the distinct impression that a step up in trip will be in his favour while his most recent run suggested his current handicap mark is one he can win off.
Tipping competition – day one
This week's prize is a £25 bet from those generous chaps at Stan James. They have been on offer throughout September, so it's your final chance We've this week.
Last week's winner was Chris1623, who grabbed victory on the final day thanks to Black Treacle at 33-1.
Today's races are: Leicester 4.00, Leicester 5.00 and Leicester 5.30.
As ever, our champion will be the tipster who returns the best profit to notional level stakes of £1 at starting price on our nominated races, of which there will be three each day up until Friday. Non-runners count as losers.
In the event of a tie at the end of the week, the winner will be the tipster who, from among those tied on the highest score, posted their tips earliest today, on the final day.
