With a record of five course and distance wins, Fibresand specialist Egyptian Lord (4.20) stands out at Southwell today. After a few runs without his customary blinkers, the headgear was back on last week and Egyptian Lord returned to form when narrowly beaten by Sir Don at Wolverhampton. As his record show, he is pounds better on the slower Southwell surface.
Cerebus (1.20), another five-times Fibresand winner, will be hard to peg back in the Southwell opener. She was never headed when scoring here last week and is weighted to turn round earlier course form with Sophia Gardens.
Jamie Spencer is likely to try and wind things up from the front on Fresh Mint at Lingfield, but Kirsty Milczarek should be alive to the situation on Sun Of The Sea (3.40). A lightlyraced four-year-old, Sun Of The Sea was going away at the finish when successful over 10 furlongs here recently and shapes as though he will get this extra two furlongs, certainly in a race of this nature.
