Jim Best, the in-form Sussex trainer, did us a good turn with Rapscallion at Kempton yesterday. His runner in the second race at Lingfield this afternoon, Lady Pilot (1.00), won't be such a good price but she looks capable of continuing Best's good run. In front and going well when she fell two out at Huntingdon, Lady Pilot has Flat race speed which will stand her in good stead in this company. There is always the danger the fall will have affected her confidence, but it wasn't a bad spill -- she just buckled on landing after jumping the flight.
Kayceecee (3.45) is the other recommended bet at Lingfield. Trained by Henry Daly, who has also been among the winners lately, this six-year-old turned in an improved round of jumping at Uttoxeter and was unlucky to run into an unexposed and well-backed horse of Venetia Williams' in Something Wells.
At Wetherby, Peter Bowen's good bumper horse Kilcannon Supreme (2.30) can get off the mark on his second try over hurdles. He was having his first run for 84 days when sixth behind I'msingingtheblues at Wincanton. That form is working out well.
