At 16-1, with betting a quarter odds the first four places, Flying Enterprise (1.20) is each-way value in the big chase at Cheltenham today. Yes, he has to prove his stamina for this 3m1f trip, but he was very strong at the finish when beating Ofarel d'Airy by eight lengths over 2m5f here last season. He's well handicapped on that form and his trainer, Venetia Williams, is going great guns at present.
On the forecast good ground, Wonderkid (1.55) comes well into the reckoning for the cross-country chase. Trained by the shrewd Tony Martin, he was fifth in this a year ago, only weakening close home in testing conditions. As Martin says this morning, Wonderkid is a "good ground horse''.
Jack The Giant (2.30) should go well off his low hurdles rating, considering he was good enough to finish third in the Arkle Chase here last season. At Southwell, proven ability to handle the deep Fibresand surface should be of paramount importance. Six winners over the two days they raced here earlier this week were previous Southwell scorers.
