A late switch has taken the 12-furlongs handicap at Lingfield today from turf to all-weather, and that could be to the advantage of Wing Play (2.30). Hughie Morrison's colt won well on his only start on Polytrack so far, beating a decent sort in Martyr at Wolverhampton. He looked ready for the step up to this trip when staying on to finish third over 1m3f at Warwick recently.
Emma Lavelle is best known as a trainer of jumpers, but she sent out a two-year-old winner the other day and can follow up with Zebrano (3.30) at Lingfield. This colt seems to be progressing whereas Johnny Rook, second to Orizaba first time out, is not.
The jumps theme could be maintained at Leicester, where Charlie Longsdon runs his recent acquisition, Crystal Prince (7.50). This is not a strong race and Crystal Prince will go close if he responds as well as other newcomers to the Longsdon yard have done over jumps.
