Clive Brittain might not be everyone's idea of a trainer to follow, but the Newmarket man is in bliinding form at the moment, having won with five of his last nine runners. He sends out just one today, Sahrati (5.10) at Southwell and this four-year-old has a major chance at the weights. He disappointed on his one attempt on the Fibresand surface here, but that was at the end of his two-year-old season and he may not have been at his best. Racing off a mark of 89 when third behind Buccellati in a good race at Chester last September, Sahrati gets in here off 73.
Henrietta Knight rattled off a four-timer at Huntingdon on Monday and she has good prospects of following up with Soixante (3.15) at Kempton. Interesting that Mango Catcher has been a springer in the market for the 4.25 here. He's the first runner for rookie trainer Rebecca Curtis.
Chris Grant is another trainer going along nicely at present, and his recent course and distance scorer Emerald Destiny (3.05) can defy a 12lb rise in the weights. He has been rated higher than this in the past.
