Today's best bets, by Will Hayler

Once again Ireland, where Power and Maybe run at the Curragh for Aidan O'Brien, and the rest of Europe lead the way in staging some decent Sunday racing today, with the fare on offer at Leicester and Windsor looking ordinary in comparison.

Given the promise she showed on her debut, Word Power (4.00) was a little disappointing last time out at Windsor when fading under pressure in the final furlong, but she ought to face a straightforward task back at the same track today.

Indian Mist, her only possible rival on form shown so far, produced a very disappointing effort last time, and has even more questions to answer.

It's interesting that rather than ride her, however, Tom Queally has gone to Leicester to partner another Cecil runner, Stupulate (2.15). Sir Henry has a fine record at this track with similar types and this debutant holds entries in the Royal Lodge and Dewhurst and is clearly highly regarded at home, but Frankie Dettori is also at the track for just one mount - Abhaath - in the same race and this could turn out to be quite a hot event.

Course-and-distance winner Scamperdale (3.45) is one to look at at a bigger price later in the card. He looked as if he was on the way back to peak form when third on his second start after a few months off and the Brian Baugh stable has had a few decent-priced winners in the last fortnight.
