Thursday's best bets, by Tony Paley
Hay Dude (3.40) is 5lb higher than when scoring over course and distance in May but ran well off his current mark when third in 0-100 company at Ayr last time and should remain competitive now eased in grade at Haydock. At the same meeting, Bop It (4.10), who is back on his last winning handicap mark, has his second run for David O'Meara. The trainer has a good record with new recruits and this looks the time to catch the gelding following his promising run last month.
