Chris Grant is enjoying a good spell with his small team of jumpers, and the ex-jockey could have found the right race for his six-year-old Mey Clouds (3.10) at Newcastle today. This gelding's sire, Cloudings, is noted for stayers and Mey Clouds will need stamina in today's ground. He was a well beaten third behind The Wooden Spoon at Wetherby, but in the context of this handicap that form gives Mey Clouds a fighting chance.
By Command (4.30) will have to win the maiden at Windsor if he is to justify his Derby and Dante Stakes entries. Mineral Rights (3.20) has plenty of form on Wolverhampton's Polytrack and, visored for the first time today, he should go close from his low draw.
