After the one event that the general British public believes to be representative of the rest of the sport, it is time to get back to the sort of racing that really is the heart of the industry for the next 364 days and Ffos Las is a fair place to start.

The country's newest track beautifies a landscape that was previously the site of Europe's largest open-cast mine, and the facilities were designed from scratch to be a match for anything in the country.

Ffos Las has struggled to get full fields at times since it opened nearly three years ago, but there are plenty of runners on Sunday afternoon, although sadly without the original best bet Fishoutofwater in the handicap chase. Rockabilly (3.15) is the likeliest horse to take advantage, while Speed Master (4.25) is another at a fair price.

Bally Gunner (3.35) was given far too much to do last time out and is worth backing to get it right at Market Rasen, while at Leopardstown, the field for the 1,000 Guineas Trial includes Fire Lily (4.00), the runner-up to Elusive Kate in the Group One Prix Marcel Boussac last autumn.
