Summer jumping is not to everyone's taste, as it usually involves moderate horses, but at Market Rasen today there are a couple of exceptions. Alan King has a good record here and Potemkin (2.40) is sure to have been well schooled. He ran well on the Flat recently.
Tony McCoy was brilliant on Native City for Jonjo O'Neill the other day, and the champion will be hard to beat on stable-mate Akram (4.55). Clear of the rest when runner-up at Uttoxeter last time, this fomerly smart Flat performer is well handicapped over hurdles.
Newcastle tonight looks very difficult and Newmarket isn't easy, but Luca Cumani's Celt (7.35) seems worth another chance. This colt has always looked the type to do well in handicaps and things haven't gone his way so far, but there was promise in his fourth behind Allied Powers at Newbury.
