Talking Horses

It's Sunday so the racing must be dross in Britain. Hold on, today is one of the very few days in the year when it's worth tuning in for the home-grown product with an excellent card at Ascot.

Today's bet is in the first race with the Guardian nap going on Kensington Oval 2.05pm. As is pointed out in the Racing Post verdict on today's race — a case cannot be made for this one on the form book. However, the potential is there and the reports of his gallops in preparation for this have been extremely complimentary.

2.05pm Johnny Be Bad

Johnny Murtagh throws his toys out of the pram after he is unshipped from the second favourite in the first race at The Curragh. Dohasa rears as the stalls open and throws the jockey off. Murtagh gets up off the ground, pointing and ranting and raving.

Trainer Hughie Morrisson is seen on the BBC doing the same thing at Ascot, this time his anger is vented at clerk of the course Chris Stickels. The loose ground at the track, which came in for a lot of stick yesterday from such as John Gosden, is obviously still the cause of much anger.

Over to The Curragh and Sea The Stars wins the big two-year-old event. Cue quotes for next year's Classic.
