Improved form over jumps doesn't always translate to the Flat, but when it does good betting opportunities arise. Silver Seeker (5.00) has already made the switch pay off, winning by 10 lengths at Musselburgh last week after good efforts over hurdles for trainer Pauline Robson. Unpenalised for that win at Redcar today, he will be hard to beat.
Jim Goldie is wasting no time in getting La Vecchia Scuola (4.35) out on the Flat in an attempt to exploit a lowly handicap mark. This tough filly has gone from strength to strength over hurdles for the stable and even on the best of last season's Flat form, a close second to Double Banded at Newcastle, looks to have a great chance at Carlisle.
The maiden races look weak on a generally poor Bank Holiday programme, and trainer Brian Meehan can complete a double with Blue Spartan (2.20) at Chepstow, and Film Maker (4.25) at Redcar.
