For those of us who have backed her for the St Leger, it was bad news today concerning Look Here, who has had a setback, misses next week's Yorkshire Oaks and is very doubtful for the final Classic. Hoping to boost funds today, the main bet is at Newbury where Manyriverstocross (1.50) has plenty in his favour following an improved run when fourth behind Daraahem at Haydock. With smart apprentice David Probert taking off 5lb, Alan King's colt stands out in a race where he is up against largely xposed opposition.
At Nottingham, Badweia (2.35) can show the benefit of a return to sprinting after failing to stay 7f in the race won by Red Dune at Newmarket. She won well in the soft at Newbury and, after just four starts, should have a bit more improvement in her.
A drop in distance was certainly the making of Earlsmedic (6.00) when he bolted up at Hamilton. The opposition was weak, but he clocked a good time and is interesting in the 6f handicap at Newmarket tonight.
