Best when held up for a late run, Newton Bridge (2.40) has the ideal jockey on board in Timmy Murphy to execute the tactics at Sandown today. The Irish raider shaped well over hurdles last time, and is potentially well handicapped for this return to chasing.
The rest of the Sandown card looks tricky, but at Leicester a small each-way interest in Tipp Top (2.50) may not go amiss. This veteran chaser could benefit from a change of stables, and in this amateurs' race he is partnered by the highly promising Harry Haynes. We should be hearing a lot more about this rider as he gains experience.
Watch out for Emshabb (7.20) at Wolverhampton tonight. She showed little on her debut at Kempton, but is dropped in class and trainer Willie Haggas places his all-weather runners well.
