With one in four of his runners successful over the past fortnight, Nigel Twiston-Davies has his horses fighting fit and Thai Vango (5.00) should be backed to make a winning return to action at Towcester today. Making his handicap debut off a handy looking mark here, Thai Vango was produced fit first time out to win a bumper for the stable two seasons ago, so lack of a run should not count against him.
At Exeter, Sunnyhillboy (2.20) has been given a handicap mark after just two runs over hurdles, and he can benefit from the change to the rule which previously required three runs for a rating. Jonjo O'Neill's gelding seems to be going the right away and this is a very ordinary race.
With Guardian tip Will The Till a non-runner, The Venetian (4.20) looks very interesting in the novice handicap hurdle at Exeter. He has been well backed today, into 7-2, which suggests trainer Victor Dartnall has the seven-year-old in good shape for his first run of the year. The Venetian has always been well regarded.
