Talk Contemporary: Does gender matter in art

In 2013, the Guerrilla Girls asked whether women had to be naked to get into New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art. Their statistics showed that less than three per cent of artists in the Met’s modern art section were woman, while 83 per cent of the nudes are female.

As part of Sydney Contemporary’s Talk Contemporary series, Artspace director Alexie Glass-Kantor, artists Emma Price and Liam Benson, actress Rachel Griffiths and Museum of Old and New Art curator Jarrod Rawlins ask the question: does gender matter in art?
