Talented young Coatbridge sisters to dance at national Strictly Kids event

A Coatbridge sister act are getting ready to take to the dance floor at a prestigious national fundraising event.

Brooke Goldie, 12, and younger sibling Willow, six, have been chosen to perform at STV’s Strictly Kids after flying through the auditions earlier this year.

The duo, who attend Pamela Logan school of dance in Airdrie, will showcase their ballroom and Latin dancing at Glasgow’s Doubletree Hilton next month.

There will also be judges at the event, which asks each participant to raise money for the channel’s Children’s Appeal.

Dance addicts Brooke and Willow, who attend St Ambrose High and Langloan Primary, are “buzzing” at the opportunity, according to proud mum Danielle.

She told the Advertiser: “Things like this make all the running about worth it because they are so happy.

“They were picked at their auditions in Glasgow and have been paired with boys to learn their routine.

“Brooke is doing a cha-cha and Willow is doing a quick-step.

“They’re the first siblings to have been picked to perform in the event which make their dad Allan and I so proud.

“They’re very passionate about dancing, although this is a bit different for them.

“They normally perform a street dance style and are always dancing about the house. This is a new challenge for them, but they’re really enjoying the practice.”

Brooke and Willow will be given the VIP treatment before attempting to impress the panel of guest judges at the swanky hotel.

But as well as the day being a special memory for the Goldie family, they are keen to raise as much money as possible for the appeal too.

Danielle continued: “The kids are encouraged to raise funds for the STV appeal.

“We’ve got a JustGiving page going and are hoping to raise £600 in total between Brooke and Willow.

“It’s going pretty well just now but we still have another week-and-a-half to try and increase it.”
