Talented schoolboy sings song from Les Miserables in honour of NHS heroes

A Larkhall councillor’s son has performed an “emotional” song in honour of the NHS heroes during the coronavirus outbreak.

Conservative councillor Richard Nelson’s son Euan performed Bring Him Home from the hit musical Les Miserables, and dedicated it to all the NHS staff working during the pandemic.

The talented 12-year-old, from Carluke, was also honouring both his parents, Lynne and Richard, who work for the NHS.

Euan, a pupil at Carluke High School, has enjoyed singing since he was seven years old and attends Shine Theatre Group in the town.

He posted on his Facebook page: “Here is a wee song dedicated to all the NHS staff and key workers to thank them for everything they are doing to help us through this scary time. The song is from Les Miserables and called Bring Him Home. I really hope you all like this.”

His proud mum Lynne said: “His papa has also been unwell during this time, he has tested negative for Covid-19, but it’s a very difficult time for everyone and Euan just wanted to give something back. He loves his musicals and just wanted to perform to dedicate it to all the NHS staff which includes me and his dad.”
