Pupils from Livingston’s Ogilvie School Campus are celebrating after sweeping the board at a national art competition.
The youngsters took first, second and third place at the The Royal Scottish Academy (RSA) Art Awards.
Olivia took first prize for her mixed media landscape, Logan was second for a water colour sunflower and KJ took third place for her still life painting of a vase of flower - beating competition from over 800 entries.
Art teacher Gillian Lloyd said: “Pupils at Ogilvie campus experience art from an early age and enjoy expressing themselves creatively without the written and spoken word using a variety of media from paints, clay to papier mâché. Our pupils’ submissions this year ranged from a variety of different subject matter from still life, landscape to portraiture.
“We are delighted and so proud of all our pupils who took part in the competition and to the amazing prize winners, An outstanding achievement.”
The Royal Scottish Academy (RSA) Art Awards is an annual art competition for all special and secondary schools in Scotland.
The competition has been running since 1986 and is considered by teachers to be one of the most prestigious awards made to pupils. Supported by Scottish law firm Brodies LLP, prizes are awarded for work which displays creativity and originality and skills of technique and observation.
