Talented American high school kids set to perform special free concert in Dublin this St Patrick's Weekend

A group of talented American high schoolers are bringing their top Glee game to Dublin this St Patrick’s Weekend.

Northwest Chorale — featuring 65 gifted student singers from across Kansas — will perform a special free concert in Dublin’s Christ Church cathedral on Monday, March 16 at 8pm.

And just like the stars of smash hit TV series Glee, their performance is guaranteed to wow audiences as they deliver a setlist designed to appeal to all age groups.

It will include light-hearted American classic folk song Skip To My Lou, joyful anthem Jubilate Deo by Benjamin Britten and the rousing Antiphon by Ralph Vaughan Williams.

Dr Kurt Knecht, organist with the Northwest Chorale and a world renowned composer, will accompany the student singers on his self-penned A Prayer for Peace.

He said: “We are hugely excited to be performing in the historic surrounds of Christ Church and hope Irish audiences enjoy our repertoire."

You can hear Northwest Chorale, conducted by Beth Richey-Sullivan, sing live in Dublin’s Christ Church Cathedral on Monday, March 16 at 8 pm.

Tickets to the concert are free but you must register at christchurchcathedral.ie.
