Takumi Minamino video goes viral as Liverpool new boy sets record on Japanese gameshow

Liverpool fans might get their first glimpse of new signing Takumi Minamino today when the Reds take on Everton in the Merseyside derby.

And having already seen him impress against Liverpool twice this season, it's fair to see fans are excited to see the Japanese international in action.

Until then, supporters have had to make do with Youtube videos of Minamino playing for Salzburg in Austria, but another excellent clip has cropped up today showing just what the 24-year-old is capable of.

Minamino's appearance on Japanese gameshow Honoo-no Taiiku-kai TV has gone viral on the internet after the midfielder set a new record in their 'volley shot challenge'.

Tasked with taking out 15 targets in just 100 seconds, Minamino topped the next best record of 13 to complete the full challenge - sending the studio audience wild.

Lionel Messi has appeared on the show in the past, taking out 20 targets, but was allowed to shoot from the ground and not forced to volley each shot. Paris-Saint Germain star Neymar is another player who has appeared on the show.

Liverpool fans will be hoping Minamino finds the target again should he start against bitter rivals Everton.
