Taking offence at a fence

A ramshackle fence is causing a stir in a millionaire’s enclave.

Other owners in Southwoods, Troon, have replaced or repaired their wooden fences after an appeal by a neighbour.

But just one remains in a tumbledown state.

And ironically the stretch of ground belongs to a building tycoon.

One neighbour said: “It is quite a mess and bringing the neighbourhood down, in my opinion.

“Fences on both sides of Southwood Road have now been replaced, including Grey Gables and bordering land owned by Persimmon Homes, who I must say were very quick to put in a new fence.

“We are now just left with a 30 yard stretch owned by a man who lives nearby, but he doesn’t appear to be interested in doing his bit to spruce up the look of the area.”
