Taking a look at some free agency targets for the Chargers

Jay Paris of Forbes took a look at how the Chargers are approaching the offseason. From the expiring contracts of Darius Philon and Adrian Phillips, to team needs and offseason targets. The team could make a run at defensive tackle, safety, and wide receiver. Here are some names that Forbes threw around:

The Chargers will likely pick through the free-agency bin at defensive tackle where some interesting candidates will be available: Sheldon Richardson (Minnesota), Kyle Williams (Buffalo) and Malcom Brown (New England). It’s believed LA will make a strong push to keep Phillips, but if not Ha Ha Clinton-Dix (Washington) and Tre Boston (Arizona), a one-time Charger, could have their tires kicked.

Feels like a safe bet the team wouldn’t go back to Tre Boston. Though they could use a true free safety. Clinton-Dix is a good player. He also feels like a player that will get a hefty contract. I wouldn’t mind seeing Phillips get a crack at free safety. He’s such a smart player that he could make it work.

Brown is a really good defensive tackle as well, but he won’t offer much of a pass-rush. He is a younger Brandon Mebane. Richardson would be the best defensive tackle on the Chargers by a good bit. He’s another player that expects to get a pretty penny. It’s good to throw names around and get familiar with new names.
