Sonu Nigam met with a nasty incident on Monday, when a fan forcibly tried to take a selfie with him, when he was performing at a concert in Chembur. There have been many incidents in the past, when celebs have been left uncomfortable and shaken by their fans at public places. Here's talking to actors from the TV fraternity about the times when they went through some crazy moments with fans. Read on...
Nia Sharma: A woman forcibly clicked a series of pictures, holding my hand
I have seen weird behaviour, some people really lack sensitivity. There are people who will come to you for selfies and once you give them a selfie, they will say 'sahi nai aayi' and then they will put on their glares and again pose with you. So it is not just one picture but a full photoshoot they do with you. Once, I was sitting in the cart at the airport, and this woman forcibly came and sat with me inside the cart, held my hand and took all kinds of pics and did a photoshoot with me, without realising that I was getting late. They behave as if they own you and you are at their mercy. People need to understand it's a picture and not a photoshoot. And if you say no, you become a rude celeb. A celeb is many times portrayed wrong for refusing a selfie. We look like clowns till they get done with all their angles.
Kushal Tandon: A girl pulled my shirt and clicked a selfie
It happens with us all at airports, events and clubs. I remember I had worn this shirt which had those push buttons and a girl who was drunk at a club, forcibly came to me and tried to pull my shirt, and in the process my entire shirt buttons opened and she immediately grabbed me and clicked a selfie with me in that unbuttoned shirt and chest showing. It was embarrassing.
Adaa Khan: A group of boys dropped popcorn on me, trying to take selfies
Fans wanting selfies is quite common and invasion of privacy. They should not cross limits. I had gone to watch a movie in a theatre, and a group of boys forcefully tried to click selfies. They dropped the entire bowl of popcorn on me.
Subuhii Joshii: Few men pushed me and grabbed my waist because they wanted to take a selfie
I remember I was deejaying at an event in Hyderabad and after the event got over, some influential boys, who were drunk, tried to forcefully take a selfie with me. I was told by bouncers to refuse and when I tried walking away, they pushed me and one of them grabbed me by the waist. I was shocked and had to push them away and I immediately went to my hotel room. The next day, they came on their bikes and followed us at another event. They were sober but it was a scary incident.
Sneha Jain: Some school boys pushed me for a selfie
When I was shooting for Saathiya 2, we had to go outdoors and a group of school boys pushed each other to click a selfie with me and in the process touched and pushed me, too. I had to immediately shout and ask for help."
Mitaali Nag: A fan tipped the hotel staff to come to my room
I remember when I was doing the show Afsar Bitiya, I was invited as a celebrity guest for an event in Patna. At the event, the fans crowded near the green room where I was sitting. Somehow they diverted some of the crowd towards the stage and got the car till the green room. And I was taken back to the hotel. Later, I heard a doorbell in my room. It was again a fan who must have tipped the staff to get to my room. He just wanted a picture with me. It took another 10 mins to get that man away from the spot. I was so scared that I just did not sleep the entire night.
