Takehiro Tomiyasu's honest message after Brighton result shows Arsenal's improved mentality

Takehiro Tomiyasu claimed that Arsenal are not happy after drawing against Brighton on Saturday.

The Gunners struggled to impose themselves at the Amex Stadium as the hosts maintained the lion's share of possession whilst also registering a whopping 22 shots on Aaron Ramsdale's goal.

Mikel Arteta's side went into the clash full of confidence after winning four games on the bounce across all competitions.

The north London club followed up narrow 1-0 wins against Norwich City and Burnley with a 3-0 win over AFC Wimbledon in the Carabao Cup before a first-half demolition of local rivals Tottenham Hotspur last weekend saw them win 3-1 against Nuno Espirito Santo's men.

Still, the contest ended 0-0 against the Seagulls, the third clean sheet that the Japan international has registered in four games since joining from Italian outfit Bologna on transfer deadline day.

Tomiyasu admitted that Graham Potter's side controlled the majority of the game but claimed that he was still unhappy with the draw, a sign that Arsenal's mentality is improving under Arteta.

The 22-year-old said: "I am not happy with the result but I have to think positively about the one point because they controlled the game most of the time.

"We will take one point. I’m not happy with the result but we have to be positive.

"I am happy about the clean sheet. You have to think positively because in the box I think we won the duels. Only in the box. In other spaces we lost the duel most of the time. We have to improve this.”

Arsenal will host Patrick Vieira's Crystal Palace side at the Emirates Stadium in two weeks' time after the end of the current international break.
