Takeaway guest announcer Rob Delaney tries to overrule Ant & Dec over holiday prize and fans agree

Saturday Night Takeaway's latest Star Guest Announcer attempted to overrule Ant and Dec and give a family a dream holiday on this weekend's show.

American actor Rob Delaney, star of Deadpool 2 and Hobbs & Shaw, followed in the footsteps of potty mouthed chef Gordon Ramsay and singer and It's A Sin star Olly Alexander to get in the voice over booth live in the Takeaway studio on Saturday.

And it was his participation in the new game Saturday Night At The Movies that got viewers at home talking.

Firstly for his Dirty Dancing confession that'd he'd never seen the classic film and then, for something that happened at the end of the same round, when he attempted to win some prizes for The Compton family.

After winning them cash prizes for guessing their reenactments of Frozen and Ghostbusters, Rob shouted Lady and the Tramp right at the death but Ant and Dec ruled he didn't say it in time to win the family a Takeaway getaway.

However, Rob firmly disagreed and told them: "If I keep saying it, you get the holiday," Rob announced. "You get the holiday, it's official!"

"We're just out of time," Dec announced.

Rob responded: "I said Lady and the Tramp very loudly. Even though it was a second late."

And plenty of viewers agreed with Rob. One tweeted Takeaway's official account to say: " @itvtakeaway come on give the family the holiday he said Lady and the Tramp jesus christ come on!!" and another posted: "The first family should have won the holiday since he said lady and the tramp before the buzzer, unlike the girl from last weeks sing along live"

The second tweet referred to last week's show when a viewer named Dionne was eventually. awarded a £500 prize after initially being told she didn't say the correct word in time during a Singalong game.

Reacting to Rob, a third viewer tweeted him to say: "it wouldn't surprise me if you get "Lady and The Tramp" shouted at you as you walk down the street..."
