Takeaway goes viral with £15 ‘back to the 90s’ munchie box with twizzlers and potato smileys

A restaurant’s nostalgic ‘back to the 90s’ munchie box has gone viral.

Eatery Lilly’s triggered a storm on social media after they unveiled the munchie box of retro ‘beige’ classics.

Their post featuring the pizza box laden with turkey twizzlers, potato smileys and other questionable goodies generated more than 2000 likes, 28,000 comments and 14,000 shares on Facebook.

The post said: “People have asked and we have delivered… ‘Whether this is to feed four children or a box to reminisce the good old days, this will be available to order from tomorrow.’”

Inside the box, that costs £14.99, you get: A mini cheese and tomato pizza; Four original turkey twizzlers; Eight chicken dippers; Four mini potato waffles; Four turkey dinosaurs; Six potato smileys; Curly fries; Spaghetti hoops; Beans; Four Fruit Shoots or two cans of Coca Cola.

Most people were blown away by the feast from the Swansea restaurant.

Marianne McGarry wrote: “My kid would demolish this... and so would I. Only thing that was edible in school was smiley face potatoes.”

But some balked at the price, with one person saying: “Looks tasty but you could buy a whole bag of each item for that price.”

Another wrote: “This is why mums go to Iceland.”
