Takeaway driver threatened in Paisley

Paisley police are appealing for witnesses after a delivery driver was threatened while doing his job.

The man was in a parked Ford Focus on Magdalen Way in the Foxbar area of the town.

A suspect leaned in the window and allegedly threatened him with a knife and demanded money. No money was taken and the suspect ran off.

The suspect is described as a white man with a local accent, slim build and sunken around the eyes. He was wearing a navy blue jacket with the hood up and dark coloured trousers. He may have some facial hair.

Detective Constable James Campbell, of Paisley CID, said: “Thankfully no one was injured as a result of this but it was a frightening experience for a man who was simply doing his job.

“I'm appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident or has any relevant information to contact us.”

The incident happened at around 6.30pm on Thursday, October 14.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting incident 2738 of 14 October 2021. Alternatively, Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111.
