Takeaway driver shouts at woman trying to do the right thing

A woman claims she was shouted at on her doorstep by a food delivery driver.

She was then compelled to leave a review after receiving a takeaway she hadn't ordered.

The woman, from Southport, says she tried to return the food but the delivery driver was "already back in the car" by the time she opened her front door.

Posting in a Southport food review group on Facebook on Thursday, she said: "I received a takeaway delivery last night.

"I can’t say from where because I didn’t order it.

"It’s lucky I was stood by the door when she knocked because by the time I opened the door she was already back in the car.

"Some caramel covered ice cream looking thing was on my wall and the rest of the food was on the floor.

"It had clearly been paid for because she wasn’t hanging around. When I waved her down to come get the food clearly intended for someone else, she seemed really cross!

"She insisted it was for my house and then left.

"Did I commit some kind of takeaway faux pas here? If someone accidentally delivers food to your house are you supposed to keep it?

"This is a review, I just don't know where for."

People were quick to comment on her post.

One man wrote: "This has made my day. Priceless."

A woman said it was the "best review yet" and called it "honest and straight to the point."

Another wrote: "Best review ever but I need a conclusion to this story."

A third commented: "You should have posted this in a lost and found group."
