Takeaway boss' brilliant invitation to man who sent stroppy tape measure snap of pizza

A couple has been ridiculed after getting a tape measure out to prove their £13 Margherita pizza was two inches short of the advertised 15 inches, with some branding them the "takeaway police."

Coral and Luke Heath claim to have been furious upon discovering their takeaway pizza "was way too small", even snapping a pic with a tape measure as proof.

After ringing up the pizza place to complain, things soon became heated with Luke claiming a staff member repeatedly blasted him as a liar, refusing to get him either a refund or fresh pizza.

The pair have since shared their ordeal - and tape measure pic - online and, although they've had some sympathy, many have wondered why "they've got nothing better to do."

Luke fumed: "Terrible pizza place. Really rude staff. We bought the 15-inch pizza and it was way too small so I rang them directly before the delivery app to get it sorted.

"The person directly called me a liar over and over and was very argumentative. He refused to even send a new pizza or a refund since it wasn't what we paid for.

"He kept saying they take pictures of their pizza and I am wrong. Well, we measured that pizza after this and that pizza was too damn small. It was burnt, just terrible all over. Really, don't order from these people, they do not care about you."

Expressing similar outrage, Coral added: "I honestly don't care what the box says. I ordered a 15 so I expect 15."

The couple had purchased their pizza from Westgate Pizza, in Canterbury, Kent, where staff have a different take on the situation.

An employee of six years, Mujeeb Hootek, has since hit back at the couple, arguing that the restaurant doesn't even have a 13-inch pan.

Mujeeb said: "We offered a refund, which they took, and we apologised. We also offered them to come in and see our pans and how we work."

A number of people have been left flabbergasted by the extensive efforts made by the couple to prove their order was wrong.

Local man Liam Sheen wrote: "You actually measured a pizza... and I thought I had no life. Calm down takeaway police."

Another commenter, Caweey Georgini, joked: "Have you phoned the police or shall I?"

However, others could see their reasoning, remarking that the two-inch difference would in fact add up to an entire seven-inch pizza, and thus quite a large portion of their meal.

A third person by the name of Joe Levi said: "You lot might be saying they've got nothing better to do.

"But if everyone let things like this slip all the time where would we actually stop with people selling things that don't match the description."
