Takeaway beer and a 10pm curfew - what do you make of the new rules aimed at halting the coronavirus spike in Bolton?

Bolton has been placed under strict new local lockdown rules which are aimed at halting an alarming spike in the number of coronavirus cases.

The town has seen a sudden increase in positive tests which has led to it recording the highest infection rate in the country.

In the week ending September 6 there were 377 cases - which is 170 more than the previous week and equivalent to an infection rate of 131.

The spread of the virus in Bolton has prompted the government to impose a number of rules which will only apply to the town.

This includes an order for pubs, restaurants and cafes to serve takeaway food and drink only and to close between the hours of 10pm and 5am.

Further restrictions have been placed on people socialising with friends or relatives who are not in their household.

Details of the new rules can be found here - but what do you make of the restrictions in Bolton, and do you think they will work?
