Take this spring flower test before finalizing your planting plans — most people can't name them all

A triptych of photos showing spring flowers.

The days are stretching longer now, and seeing the first pops of spring color in the garden and outdoor spaces is making us more than a little giddy. Whether you're planning how to grow perfect roses this summer or how to get a greener lawn, millions of us are turning our attention to our outdoor spaces and the floral displays starting to appear.

With that in mind, we want to celebrate the coming spring months with a beautiful picture quiz. Can you name each spring flower and plant in the photos? And will these inspire new planting schemes this year? Let's see.

How did you do? Let us know what you think in the comments below. Too hard? Too easy? I love to hear from you and welcome all constructive feedback.

As a keen gardener who needs no encouragement to buy more plants, I'd also love to hear your favorite spring flower.

I'll go first: the lightly scented, butter-yellow daffodils in my front yard are currently making me extremely happy, but I'm already looking ahead to late spring, when the short shoots sprouting from my peonies will bear coral and pink blooms at last.

If you enjoyed this quiz, then check out our other puzzles and quizzes. And don't forget to register to save your score, reveal hints for any clues you're not sure of (though I'm sure you won't need that) and secure your spot on the competitive Tom's Guide leaderboard.

And if you love spring flowers as much as me, you may be interested in shopping for some fresh plants and gardening gear in time for the weekend. As I said, I need no encouragement to squeeze in a few extra blooms.
