Leeds United midfielder Adam Forshaw says Nottingham Forest's battling goalless draw with Bristol City yesterday underlines their promotion credentials.
Sabri Lamouchi 's side held their Ashton Gate hosts despite having had Ryan Yates sent off four minutes before the hour mark for a two-footed challenge on Adam Nagy.
Forest played well in the first-half and had chances, Yates himself having a shot cleared off the line and Joe Lolley seeing a curling effort saved by Daniel Bentley.
It turned into a backs-against-the-wall job in the second half, though, once the visitors started to grow into the game and sense an opportunity to nick three points against the promotion-chasing Reds.
There were still chances on offer, however, with 15 minutes left to play.
But in terms of the red card, Forshaw - whose Leeds side moved five points clear of Forest in second place yesterday - reckons Forest managed the game well despite being down to ten men.
"They've got a lot of experience," he told Quest's EFL highlights show.
"They've shown today they can grind results out and that will take them far this season."
Former Chelsea striker Sam Parkin agreed - adding that Lee Johnson's side will be the least happy of the two teams with a point.
"Bristol City will be frustrated," he said.
"They lost (Benik) Afobe and he was their predator.
"Against such a well drilled team, they just weren't able to break them down."
