'Take the biggest bow' - United players past and present congratulate Emma Raducanu

Marcus Rashford took to social media to praise Emma Raducanu for winning the US Open.

The 18-year-old didn’t drop a set all tournament on her way to victory on Saturday night, a feat even more impressive given that she was a qualifier.

Great Britain’s first female grand slam winner since Virgina Wade in 1977, Raducanu beat Leylah Fernandez 6-4 6-3.

Supporting the teenager on her way to victory was Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford.

The striker expressed his delight on social media.

Earlier on, Rashford cheekily asked Match of the Day host Gary Linekar do delay the start of the programme as the final entered the final stretch.

United's 4-1 win over Newcastle United Saturday afternoon was the first match in the show's running order.

Former United defender Rio Ferdinand and ex-United Women’s manager Casey Stoney could not hide their pleasure with Raducanu’s amazing performance.

Raducanu was a wildcard entrant at Wimbledon earlier this year.
