Take That star Howard Donald says he 'might go solo' in chat on Sunday Brunch

Howard Donald has said that he 'might go solo' in a chat on Sunday Brunch.

The Take That star was on the Channel 4 show without his fellow band mates Mark Owen and Gary Barlow to promoted his new show, Mission Ignition.

But fans of the Manchester band need not worry, we think he was only joking.

Sunday Brunch hosts Tim Lovejoy and Simon Rimmer quizzed the singer on whether he likes doing his own thing away from the band.

But Howard was prepared with a tongue-in-cheek quip at his TT pals expense.

Howard was on the Sunday programme to talk about his new TV project (Channel 4)

The 50-year-old said: "It's great. It actually feels strange that Mark's not here and Gary's not here.

"It's weird because I have been doing a bit of promo for this and being on your own is a bit of a nerve wracking experience."

Then he added: "I'm getting more used to it so maybe I'm going to go solo soon."

As the presenters burst out laughing, Simon shouted: "You heard it here first."

Howard then continued the joke by saying: "I don't think I'll sell anything but I'll try it."

The Droylsden-born music star fronts the new Channel 4 show, which started on Saturday, alongside racing ace Dario Franchitti.

The programme will give two teams of amateur car enthusiasts the opportunity to drive off in their dream car but there is a catch/

They’ll have to rebuild it first.

Howard and Dario will each lead the teams in a bid to guide them to the finish line and be a winner.

Take That are currently prepping for their huge 30th anniversary tour which kicks off in April.

The man band will take on 38 dates in arena's and stadium's up and down the country - including a five night stint at the Manchester Arena between Monday, April 22 and Saturday, April 27.

Howard has already delivered a blow to die-hard Take That fans by revealing that neither Jason Orange or Robbie Williams, who were in the band's original line-up, will not be back to take part.
