Take That's Coronation Concert performance sees group get 'new member' as they deliver epic finale

Take That surprised the huge crowd at the Coronation Concert and millions of others at home when they recruited a 'new member' for their performance at the historic event.

When the line-up for the Coronation Concert was announced earlier this year, Take That being on the bill became a bit source of excitement for fans, given the band hadn't performed together since they wrapped up their last tour in 2019. Their involvement prompted speculation that Robbie Williams and even Jason Orange might be tempted to return for the big performance, but, while neither of them appeared on stage, Take That did get some help from Calum Scott.

Former Britain's Got Talent star and Dancing On My Own singer Calum has been in the studio with Take That to record a remixed version of their 2008 number 1 Greatest Day, along with Robin Schulz.

Robin was also introduced to the Windsor Castle stage by Gary Barlow, but it was Calum who really stole the spotlight, as he and Gary sang together, with a few lyric changes for the new version.

Calum joining Take That for the Coronation Concert quickly became a divisive talking point online, with some fans of the group loving it and others upset Jason and Robbie didn't turn up.

In favour of the move, one Twitter user reacted: "Keep Calum Scott on .. best singer of the night new member for #TakeThat," with a second tweeting: "Take That & Calum Scott is the collab I never knew I needed"

However others were nowhere near as enamoured at Calum being on with Take That, with one blasting: "Take That should have invited Robbie Williams instead of Calum Scott and Robin Schulz" ahd another commenting: "Who the f is Calum Scott?"
