Take That hitmaker Gary Barlow unites with Michael Buble for new single

Gary Barlow has teamed up with singing royalty Michael Buble for a new single on his upcoming solo album.

The 47-year-old Take That star has not released any solo material in seven years - but that is set to change.

Buble and Barlow first worked together on a duet of Rule the World and Bublé's single Home ten years ago, and have now reunited to put out their first single next week.

After almost a year of planning the talented duo have joined forces with rising Latin star Sebastián Yatra for their new track Elita - set for release next week.

The song, which Gary has described as “salsa-infused pop”, is about “witnessing the power of women”.

Gary revealed to The Sun the tune was originally written for just him and Michael, but they roped in Sebastián as his “amazing charisma” and “authenticity” really made the track.

The boyband frontman told the publication: “Michael said he knew this amazing talent that would be perfect for the song.

“Within an hour we were all on the phone and when Sebastián sent the track back, we were just thrilled.”

Gary’s impending new music release will be the star’s first since 2013’s Since I Saw You Last.

He’s been busy with his Take That bandmates in the meantime, embarking on a host of tours and releasing their 2017 album Wonderland.

But Gary has been using the downtime in lockdown to work on his latest project and battling to gain planning permission for an enormous extension on his £6million Cotswolds mansion to house his fleet of luxury cars in.

The Back for Good singer faced opposition from conservationists to convert part of his home – because a pair of pipistrelle bats nested in the roof.

After a stressful few months, the star was given the go-ahead in August after a bat expert spent time at his country house monitoring the mammals’ movements.

All the multi-millionaire has to do is pay £130 for a bat disruption licence and ensure the bats are “not harmed during works”.

Gary, 49, and wife Dawn, 48, will also have to make sure the pair at their mansion in Alvescot, Oxfordshire, have a replacement home.

So the couple have agreed to install a bat box for them on a nearby tree. The star is demolishing two paddocks on the estate to build a garage, garden store and workshop.
