Take That fans told to have a little Patience as Gary Barlow takes year off

Like a lot of us, Gary Barlow is looking forward to seeing the end of 2021.

The Take That singer plans to take a sabbatical next year, to recover from it.

A lot of us would probably like to do the same...

Gary, 50, says he wants a “pretty big line drawing under this year”, and will take some time off amid the uncertainty of live music performances.

He says: “I’m going to have a bit of a reset next year. I’m gonna have a little sit back.”

But fear not, Take That fans, because the group will return.

“I think the band’s going to do something in the future but we have to be careful because [we] can’t do anything live with this going on,” he said of Covid. He added on TV programme Sunday Brunch: “Our shows are so big. This needs to be in the rear-view mirror.

“But I’m hoping for us all that we move past this quickly.”

He has wanted a year out since 2018, when he said: “The last five years I’ve been working harder because I want to earn some serious time off.”

Despite their past differences, it seems that Simon Cowell and Gary Barlow have buried the hatchet in time for the new ITV show Walk The Line.

The pair have had a toxic feud in the past which stemmed from Simon inviting Gary to become a judge on The X Factor.

However, Gary is once again filling Simon's shoes on the new programme as he opted to position himself as executive producer role on his latest reality TV venture.
