Take our European Super League Survey and give us your views on controversial plans

Jamie Carragher has had his say about the proposed new European Super League.

So has his on screen colleague Gary Neville.

Both have spoken passionately and articulately.

Anfield legend Carragher, a hero of Istanbul in 2005, said: "As a former Liverpool player, it sickens me that my club’s reputation is being damaged by the arrogance of an ownership group that wants to remove such peril, creating a culture where we no longer need to fight to earn our success. That is the antithesis of everything I understand football – especially in my city – to stand for."

Neville, who has twice been a Champions League winner, said: “The reaction to it is that it’s been damned and rightly so. I’m a Manchester United fan and have been for 40 years of my life but I’m disgusted, absolutely disgusted.

“I’m disgusted with Manchester United and Liverpool the most. Liverpool say they’re the people’s club, ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’, the fan’s club. Manchester United, 100 years, born around workers around here, and they’re breaking into a league without competition, that they can’t be relegated from.

“It’s an absolute disgrace and we have to wrestle back the power in this country from the clubs at the top of this league and that includes my club."

Now it's your turn to have your say.
