'Take no notice' Newcastle fans are not impressed by Richard Keys' comments about takeover twist

BeIN Sports presenter Richard Keys has caused a stir among Newcastle United's supporters today after publishing his weekly blog, insisting that the Magpies could be under new ownership by the middle of this month - but not under Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman of Saudi Arabia.

Keys, who both lives and works in the Middle East, has never been the most popular figures amongst the Newcastle supporters for his views on current owner Mike Ashley, former manager Rafael Benitez and the club in general.

Writing his weekly blog, Keys said: "A couple of other things. Newcastle fans should hope that the group wanting to buy their club can pull things together by mid-February.

"They’re still at the table - and it’s not the Saudi’s.

"I was pleased when Steve Bruce cooled that nonsense.

"Well - it’s not the Saudi’s right now although it is fair to say they’ve been ‘sniffing’ around."

It is safe to say that Keys' comments about the likelihood of a takeover being concluded, but not by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, have not gone down too well with the Newcastle faithful, with some pointing out that they would not believe anything Keys has had to say, as well as some saying that he 'hates' the club and is 'winding up' the fans.

Here (above) is what some Newcastle fans made to Keys' claims on Twitter.
