'Take him all day long' - Leeds United fans deliver verdict on Ross Barkley from Chelsea link

Leeds United’s lack of midfield cover reared its ugly head again on Saturday in the 1-0 defeat to Southampton at St Mary’s.

It was an area of the team that Marcelo Bielsa was keen to strengthen during the summer but no reinforcements were brought in.

A lack of back up in the middle of the park has been a real problem for the Whites since returning to the Premier League.

Despite the next transfer window still being over 10 weeks away, Leeds are already being linked with a move for former England international Ross Barkley.

The out-of-favour Chelsea midfielder has plenty of top-flight experience but his injury record is certainly a worry.

With the current issues that have already affected the squad this season, the last thing supporters at Elland Road want to see is another player who will struggle for fitness.

However, when he is able to stay relatively injury-free, there is certainly potential for Barkley to be a success at Leeds.

It wouldn’t be his first time pulling on the famous white shirt either as he was on loan in West Yorkshire in the second half of the 2012/13 campaign.

He played just four times during the month he spent with the club and was never really able to show the quality that he eventually exhibited at Everton.

When the news broke of Leeds’ interest in the 27-year-old, plenty of fans were optimistic of what he could bring to the team…

Although, other supporters were more sceptical about whether he is still good enough to play regular Premier League football…
